Combining Treatments in One Visit

October 7, 2026·4 min read·By the DayBeau Gangnam Medical Team

For patients traveling from abroad, the question is often not only which treatment, but how much can be done within one trip. It is a practical question, and a fair one. The answer depends less on the length of the list than on how the treatments on it relate to one another.

This piece looks at why treatments are combined, which pairings come up often, how one treatment's aftercare can shape what sits next to it, and who decides the order.

Why are treatments combined at all?

Facial aging rarely happens in one layer alone. Ultherapy Prime delivers focused ultrasound at depths your doctor selects; Thermage FLX uses radiofrequency heat in the skin with surface cooling; boosters such as Rejuran or Re2O are placed in the dermis. Because they are used at different points, they are often planned together.

So a combination is not a sign that a single treatment falls short. It is a way of reaching more than one layer within the same plan. We set out how each energy is used at its own depth in our piece on lifting energies.

Which treatments are often combined?

Some pairings come up regularly. Thermage FLX and Ultherapy Prime use different energy types and are sometimes planned together. Thread lifting is sometimes combined with ultrasound or radiofrequency treatment. Energy-based devices may be combined with skin boosters, collagen boosters or Rejuran in the same plan, as your doctor decides.

Outside lifting, lasers often pair with boosters or medical skincare, and Potenza and skin boosters are sometimes used together. IV therapy is often used to support condition alongside treatments.

What follows a lifting treatment deserves a design of its own, and we look at it in our piece on what comes after lifting.

What do combined programs look like?

Several of our programs are combinations by design. Collagen Bonding combines surface skin boosters, a mid-dermal collagen booster and deep lifting energy across three skin layers; most sessions take approximately 40 to 60 minutes, including preparation and numbing time.

K-Premium Lifting is built around four Korean-made energy devices — CoolSoniq, Alltite, N-gine and SUNNY RF — selected and layered for your skin and facial structure. Essential Lifting may combine ultrasound, radiofrequency and microneedling RF devices, with sessions of approximately 40 to 80 minutes depending on the devices combined.

In each case, your doctor selects the specific combination based on your skin. A program is a structure, not a fixed bundle.

Can several treatments be done on the same day?

Often, much of a plan can. Same-day treatment is possible for many procedures when your schedule is limited, subject to your Personal Consultant Session and the Doctor's Treatment Design. But not every pairing belongs on the same day. Whether two treatments share a day, and in what order, is for your doctor to determine.

The same applies within a single category. Several skin booster products can be combined in some cases; your doctor will advise whether a combination suits your skin and goals.

How does one treatment's aftercare affect another?

This is where combinations call for care. Each treatment carries its own aftercare, and sometimes that aftercare limits what can be placed beside it.

After Sofwave, radiofrequency treatments are generally avoided, and your doctor decides whether to combine them and at what interval. After skin boosters such as Rejuran or Re2O, washing and makeup wait until the next day, while after thread lifting you can wash your face the same day but should avoid opening your mouth wide for at least 2 weeks.

Placed in the same visit, these instructions overlap. That is why, depending on your treatment combination, your doctor will confirm any specific precautions before you leave the clinic.

How does a combined plan fit around my flight home?

Each treatment brings its own recovery into the plan. Mild swelling or bruising after thread lifting may last a few days; after Rejuran, injection marks may last up to about 1 week, depending on skin condition. Flight timing depends on the type of treatment and how your recovery is going. Tell us your departure date before you book, and your doctor will set the treatment order and the interval before your flight.

Share your travel dates when you first contact us. We can usually confirm in advance whether what you are considering fits the time you have in Gangnam — and, if it does not, what might be better left for another visit.

Is more always better?

No. A combination is designed, not accumulated. Rather than applying many treatments at once, the aim is to decide which approach is right for which concern. Sometimes the answer is that one treatment is the whole plan for now, or that something can wait.

If a proposed plan includes more than you expected, it is reasonable to ask why each element is there. A good answer usually contains something about your skin.

What the consultation actually decides

The Personal Consultant Session reviews your concerns, budget, travel schedule and downtime availability. The Doctor's Treatment Design then confirms your skin condition and finalizes which treatments, devices, depths and areas suit your case — and, for a combined plan, whether they share a day and in what order.

Two people with the same list of concerns often leave with different combinations. That is not inconsistency. It is what designing the plan after the assessment, rather than before it, looks like.
