After Your Treatment: When to Contact the Clinic

October 7, 2026·4 min read·By the DayBeau Gangnam Medical Team

Questions arise a few days after treatment — that is ordinary. As we noted in our piece on choosing a clinic, most of what happens falls within the normal range, but knowing whether it does is the hard part. It is harder still in a hotel room in an unfamiliar city, or at home after a long flight.

This piece sets out the signs that need attention right away, the reactions our treatment pages describe as expected, and how to reach us in either case.

Which symptoms after a cosmetic treatment need attention right away?

If blisters, severe pain, fever, or changes in skin color appear within a few days after treatment, contact DayBeau right away. Call +82-2-2138-2225 or message us on KakaoTalk.

Do not hold these for a scheduled check-in, and do not wait to see whether they settle by themselves. These four are the signs we ask to hear about straight away, wherever you are.

When should I go to an emergency room instead?

If you have difficulty breathing or swallowing, or notice changes in your vision, seek care immediately at the nearest medical facility (emergency room). In that situation, the nearest emergency room comes before a call to us.

Once you are being cared for, let us know as well. Knowing what happened helps us support you with whatever comes next.

What reactions are expected after injectable treatments?

Our treatment pages describe what usually follows each treatment, and some ranges are longer than people expect. After a skin booster, injection marks and minor papules may last up to about two weeks, depending on skin condition. After Rejuran Healer, Re2O, or CellREDM, they may last up to about one week.

After Botox, minor redness at injection points may occur briefly. After filler, minor swelling or bruising usually settles on its own. After a collagen booster or Juvelook, minor papules and redness usually settle on their own.

After facial fat dissolving, swelling usually subsides over two to five days. Separately, tingling, itching, throbbing, or warmth at the treated area may continue for about a month.

After thread lifting, mild swelling, bruising, or a tight sensation may last a few days, and any awkwardness when opening your mouth or making expressions eases over time.

What reactions are expected after lifting devices and lasers?

After Sofwave, mild redness usually settles on its own, and throbbing pain may occur. If white lines appear after ultrasound treatment, a cold compress may help, and they usually settle on their own. If anything lasts longer than expected or worsens, contact us.

After Thermage FLX, mild redness or warmth may appear briefly and usually settles on its own. After Ultherapy Prime, mild redness, swelling, or tingling may occur at the treated area, and any tenderness or swelling generally eases on its own. After Potenza, redness and minor micro-crusting usually resolve on their own. If anything lasts longer than expected or worsens, contact us.

After spot removal with a laser, crusts last about a week. They should not be picked; keep the area moisturized until they fall off naturally. Remaining pigment marks may take two months or more to fade.

The expected reactions above and the warning signs in the first section can sound alike when you are reading them alone at night. If you cannot tell which one you are looking at, ask. That is what the channel is for.

What can I do myself in the first few days?

Aftercare differs by treatment, and some of it runs in opposite directions. After heat-based device treatments such as Thermage FLX or Onda Lifting, a cold compress is fine if needed. After Botox, a light cold compress is fine if needed, while warm compresses and massaging the treated area are not recommended.

After filler, do not massage the treated area, and avoid pressure from hats, glasses, or your sleeping position. After facial fat dissolving, by contrast, gently massage the treated area for 2–3 days so the medication spreads evenly. After a collagen booster, massage the treated area 5 times a day, 5 minutes each time, for 5 days.

If an instruction is unclear once you are home — whether to massage or not, cold or warm — that is a reason to message us too, before guessing.

How do I reach DayBeau after I've flown home?

Care doesn't stop at the airport. Aftercare guidance continues in your language through WhatsApp, LINE, WeChat, or KakaoTalk, with follow-up check-ins and video consultations if needed.

General inquiries are answered within one business day. That pace suits a question about when to return to your usual skincare. It does not suit the warning signs above, which is why those go by phone or KakaoTalk, right away.

When you message us, a photo taken in daylight, the name and date of your treatment, and when the change began all help us answer you quickly.

What the Personal Consultant Session and the Doctor's Treatment Design decide

Contact after treatment is arranged before treatment. In the Personal Consultant Session, we note your preferred language and messaging channel, so that aftercare guidance reaches you where you already are.

In the Doctor's Treatment Design, your doctor confirms any specific precautions before you leave the clinic, and same-day guidance follows the treatment itself.

Most of what happens after treatment falls within the normal range. The point of knowing whom to ask is that you do not have to guess which part does.
