For most patients who travel to Seoul for treatment, one date in the plan is fixed before anything else: the flight home. Everything else — which treatments, in what order, on which day — has to fit inside it.
That is why, at DayBeau Gangnam, your departure date is treated as part of the medical picture rather than an administrative detail. This piece explains how that works, and what is worth knowing before you book.
There is no single number that applies to every treatment. Flight timing depends on the type of treatment and how your recovery is going.
What matters is when the answer is settled: before you book, not on the day. Tell us your departure date before you book, and your doctor will set the treatment order and the interval before your flight.
Some treatments carry very little visible recovery. Our Botox page lists downtime as little to none; for other treatments, your doctor tells you what to expect.
Others leave something you can see for a while. After a skin booster, injection marks and minor papules may last up to about two weeks, depending on skin condition. After spot removal with a laser, crusts last about a week, and a Duoderm patch over the area is worn for about two weeks. After facial fat dissolving, swelling usually subsides over two to five days.
Because the same list of treatments can fit a week or not fit it, depending on how it is arranged. A treatment whose marks may last a fortnight and one with almost no visible recovery do not sit in the same place in a five-day stay.
Some precautions also run for days rather than hours. After thread lifting, you are asked to avoid opening your mouth wide for at least two weeks, and mild swelling, bruising, or a tight sensation may last a few days. It is worth knowing before you plan the last days of a trip.
This is the reasoning behind the order your doctor sets. It is not about fitting more into the visit; it is about where each treatment sits relative to the day you leave.
Aftercare and travel plans often meet head-on. For one week after Botox, heat such as saunas, jjimjilbang, warm compresses, and RF treatments is avoided, along with strenuous exercise and alcohol.
After skin boosters, Juvelook, and Rejuran, strenuous exercise, alcohol, saunas, and massaging the treated area are avoided for one week. After filler, strenuous exercise, alcohol, and saunas are avoided for three to five days.
If your itinerary includes an evening at a jjimjilbang, a hiking day, or a farewell dinner with drinks, it helps to mention it early. Sometimes the answer is simply to move one or the other.
Washing and makeup follow their own timing. You can wash your face and wear makeup the same day after Botox, while after skin boosters, face washing and makeup resume from the next day. After laser treatments, sun protection and hydration are important — worth remembering on a trip spent largely outdoors.
There is no general answer, and it is better not to guess. What we can say is practical: a few days between treatment and departure leave you time to follow the first days of aftercare while you are still in Seoul, with the clinic close by.
When the schedule is tight, same-day treatment is possible for many procedures, subject to your Personal Consultant Session and the Doctor's Treatment Design.
One option for the final day is something lighter. On our Medical Skincare page, a final-day refresh before returning home is listed as one fitting use, and most programs carry minimal downtime.
The more precisely, the more useful. Your arrival and departure dates, the time of your flight, and any days already committed to other plans all change what can be arranged.
Share your travel dates when you first contact us, and we can usually confirm in advance whether what you are considering fits the time you have in Gangnam. Sharing your flight details during your Personal Consultant Session also lets aftercare be planned around your departure.
It is one of the questions we suggest asking any clinic, ourselves included, in our piece on choosing a clinic: whether the plan fits the days you have, and if it doesn't, what should come out of it.
Care doesn't stop at the airport. Aftercare guidance continues in your language through WhatsApp, LINE, WeChat, or KakaoTalk, with follow-up check-ins and video consultations if needed.
If blisters, severe pain, fever, or changes in skin color appear within a few days after treatment, contact DayBeau right away — call +82-2-2138-2225 or message us on KakaoTalk. If you have difficulty breathing or swallowing, or notice changes in your vision, seek care immediately at the nearest medical facility (emergency room).
In the Personal Consultant Session, a consultant listens to your concerns, your goals, and your travel schedule. How much downtime your trip can hold is part of that conversation from the start.
In the Doctor's Treatment Design, your doctor sets the treatment order and the interval before your flight, and confirms any specific precautions before you leave the clinic.
The flight home is the one fixed point in the plan. Everything else is drawn back from it.
