Some treatments are postponed not because of doubts about the result, but because of what the session itself might feel like. That hesitation is reasonable, and it deserves a straight answer rather than reassurance.
At DayBeau Gangnam, we study the hours you spend in treatment as carefully as the treatment itself. This piece describes how discomfort is approached here, what The Comfort Code consists of, and what is decided before your treatment begins.
It depends on the treatment, and on the person. Discomfort does not come from a single source: some treatments involve needling, some heat, some pressure, and each registers differently.
With Ultherapy, a warming or tingling feeling is common during treatment. With Thermage FLX, you may feel brief heat with each pulse. During thread lifting, you may feel pressure or tugging. Injectable treatments such as Rejuran or Juvelook involve many small injections across the face. Sensitivity also varies from person to person, and from one area of the face to another.
The Comfort Code is DayBeau's own pain-care program, built for treatments known for their intensity. Rather than relying on a numbing cream alone, it manages discomfort in four layers, each answering a different route by which discomfort arrives — under the skin, through breath, through the vein, and by instrument.
Everything is run under medical supervision, without deep sedation; you stay fully awake throughout. Every signature program at DayBeau Gangnam runs on the Comfort Code.
The first is the Comfort Formula, an in-house compounded formulation prepared at the clinic and applied before your treatment begins, so the preparation is complete before the first sensation arrives.
The second is AirNox, inhaled sedation support that may help lower pain sensitivity. It is not deep sedation: you stay fully awake, at ease.
The third is an IV pain-care infusion — intravenous pain relief that manages discomfort during treatment and may also help with post-treatment swelling. It is administered under the supervision of our medical team, with a pre-treatment check of your condition.
The fourth is the instrument itself: the X-injector and ultra-fine nano needles, precision injection devices that may help reduce the discomfort of injectable treatments. The same procedure can feel different depending on what delivers it.
The Comfort Code is applied to treatments where needling, heat or repeated injections are part of the experience: Rejuran Healer, Ultherapy Prime, Thermage FLX, Potenza, Juvelook and skin boosters.
Not every layer is used for every treatment. For Rejuran Healer, Potenza, Juvelook and skin boosters, all four layers can apply. For Ultherapy and Thermage FLX, the formula, sedation support and IV pain care apply, while the injection devices do not. Some layers are included with your treatment; optional layers are guided at consultation.
In practice, the combination follows the kind of sensation involved. For Ultherapy, AirNox sedation support is combined with the IV pain-care infusion to keep you at ease during the session. For Potenza, if the needling sensation is a concern, sedation support and the Comfort Formula can be designed into your session, with your sensitivity checked first at consultation. For Juvelook, a multi-injection procedure, the X-injector and ultra-fine nano needles are used to help reduce the burden of repeated injections.
Topical numbing is applied under The Comfort Code, followed by injection — this is how a Rejuran Healer or Juvelook session begins, and the treatment takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes.
No. The Comfort Code works without deep sedation, and you remain fully awake throughout — including during the IV pain-care infusion.
Whether sedation support is used is also part of the design. Thermage at DayBeau, for example, is performed without deep sedation, fully awake throughout; if the heat concerns you, we recommend adding sedation support to your code.
The Comfort Code is not chosen from a menu. Its use and its composition are confirmed by our medical team at your pre-treatment consultation — reviewing your sensitivity, your procedure, and your condition on the day — and adjusted during treatment as needed.
It helps to be candid at this stage. If a previous treatment was harder to sit through than you expected, if one area of your face feels more sensitive, or if needles themselves make you anxious, say so in the Personal Consultant Session. These details can be shared in your language; our interpreters are part of the clinic team. The Doctor's Treatment Design then sets the code alongside the treatment itself. The same procedure, a different code for every person.
Some tenderness after treatment can be ordinary, and how long it lasts depends on the treatment. After thread lifting, tenderness settles within days. After Sofwave, mild redness usually settles on its own, while throbbing pain may occur; contact us if it lasts longer than expected.
Severe pain is different. If blisters, severe pain, fever, or changes in skin color appear within a few days after treatment, contact DayBeau right away — call +82-2-2138-2225 or message us on KakaoTalk. If you have difficulty breathing or swallowing, or notice changes in your vision, seek care immediately at the nearest medical facility (emergency room). General inquiries are answered within one business day.
Comfort is not a service added to the treatment. It is part of the medicine: a face at ease allows for more precise work.
The Personal Consultant Session is where you describe your sensitivity and anything that worries you about the session itself. The Doctor's Treatment Design sets which layers your treatment will use, alongside the treatment itself, and the medical team adjusts them during treatment as needed. If pain is the reason you have been postponing a treatment, start the conversation there.
